AHA Chemical Peels

Prescribing clinician-led surface peels designed to improve brightness, address mild pigmentation and refine skin texture — with minimal downtime.

What are AHA chemical peels?

AHA (alpha hydroxy acid) peels are gentle chemical exfoliation treatments that work on the surface layers of the skin. Common AHAs include glycolic acid (derived from sugar cane) and lactic acid (derived from milk), both of which dissolve the bonds between dead skin cells to reveal fresher, brighter skin beneath.

AHA peels are an excellent entry point for patients new to chemical peels, or for those looking for a gentle, low-downtime treatment to maintain skin health and radiance between more intensive procedures.

What to expect

1

Skin assessment

Your skin type, concerns and sensitivity are evaluated to select the appropriate peel strength and formulation.

2

Preparation

The skin is thoroughly cleansed and degreased to ensure even penetration of the peel solution.

3

Application

The AHA solution is applied to the skin for a controlled period. You may feel a mild tingling or warmth — this is normal and indicates the peel is working.

4

Neutralisation

The peel is neutralised and removed. A soothing serum and SPF are applied to protect the fresh skin.

5

Aftercare

Mild redness and sensitivity may last 24–48 hours. Sun protection is essential in the days following treatment. There is no significant peeling with superficial AHA peels.

AHA vs TCA peels — which is right for you?

AHA peels

Gentle surface peels. Ideal for brightness, mild pigmentation and texture. Minimal downtime. Good for maintenance and sensitive skin types.

TCA peels

Deeper resurfacing peels. Better suited for more significant pigmentation, texture concerns and visible signs of ageing. More downtime required.

During your consultation, we will recommend the most appropriate peel type and strength for your skin.
