Nail Surgery — Package, Follow-Up & Out-of-Hours

The following sets out what is included within the Nail Surgery Package and the fees that apply to any subsequent or out-of-hours appointments.

Nail Surgery Package

£400

The Nail Surgery Package includes:

  • Review of previous assessment and consent
  • Nail surgery procedure under local anaesthetic
  • Appropriate postoperative dressings and wound-care advice
  • One scheduled postoperative redressing appointment

The initial assessment is not included within the £400 Nail Surgery Package and is undertaken separately before surgery. The first scheduled postoperative redressing appointment forms part of the £400 package — no additional appointment fee is payable for this appointment.

Further Appointments Following the Included Redressing

Following the included first redressing appointment, patients will normally be provided with advice regarding ongoing wound care and self-redressing at home. Any subsequent face-to-face appointments are not included within the £400 Nail Surgery Package and are charged according to the clinical care and appointment time required. This applies whether a further appointment is requested by the patient or parent/guardian for additional reassurance, or is clinically indicated for continued assessment, treatment, or wound management.

Standard Postoperative Follow-Up

£40

15-minute appointment

For a routine postoperative wound review, straightforward dressing change, or additional reassurance following the included redressing appointment. Suitable for a normally healing surgical site where no additional treatment or prescribing is required.

If assessment identifies that additional treatment or private prescribing is required, the appointment will be charged at the Complex Postoperative Review & Treatment fee of £60.

Complex Postoperative Review & Treatment

£60

Up to 30 minutes

For postoperative wounds requiring additional clinical assessment, treatment, or wound management beyond a routine review or redressing. This may include:

  • Persistent or excessive hypergranulation tissue requiring management
  • Wound irritation or trauma
  • Disrupted dressings or surgical sites
  • Delayed or disrupted healing
  • Suspected infection requiring further clinical assessment
  • Problems following premature return to sport or strenuous physical activity
  • Other postoperative concerns requiring additional clinical intervention

Where medication is clinically indicated, private prescribing undertaken as part of this appointment is included within the £60 fee. Any medication or dispensing costs charged by the supplying pharmacy are separate and are payable by the patient.

The appropriate appointment fee is determined by the clinical care required, rather than simply the appointment type originally booked.

Emergency / Out-of-Hours Appointment

£95

Revive-Restore does not provide a routine out-of-hours or on-call service. Where an urgent postoperative review is required, patients will normally be offered an appointment during the clinic's published clinical hours.

In exceptional circumstances, and strictly subject to practitioner availability, an urgent appointment outside normal clinical hours may be agreed. The fee of £95 is payable when the appointment is arranged and remains payable following assessment regardless of whether a surgical complication is subsequently identified. Clinical assessment and treatment provided during the appointment, including private prescribing where clinically indicated, are included within the £95 fee. Medication or pharmacy dispensing costs remain separate.

School attendance, work commitments, transport arrangements, or other personal scheduling difficulties do not constitute a clinical emergency. Children may therefore need to be taken out of school to attend a clinically necessary postoperative appointment during normal clinic hours. Out-of-hours appointments cannot be guaranteed.

Sport & Physical Activity Following Nail Surgery

Patients must follow the postoperative activity and wound-care instructions provided following surgery. Returning to sport or strenuous physical activity before advised may result in pain, bleeding, inflammation, wound irritation or trauma, hypergranulation tissue, and/or delayed healing.

Where an additional appointment becomes necessary following trauma to the surgical site or premature return to sport or activity, the appointment is not included within the Nail Surgery Package. The appropriate £40, £60, or £95 appointment fee will apply according to the care required and when it is provided.

School, Work & Other Commitments

Nail surgery and postoperative reviews are clinical appointments provided within the clinic's published operating hours. Children may need to be absent from school to attend surgery or a clinically necessary postoperative appointment. Work, school, or other commitments cannot guarantee access to an appointment outside normal clinic hours. Where an out-of-hours appointment is exceptionally agreed for scheduling reasons, the £95 out-of-hours fee applies.

New or Unrelated Nail Problems

Postoperative follow-up fees relate specifically to the surgical site being reviewed. A new clinical problem, a different toe, or an unrelated nail condition may require a new clinical assessment and will be charged separately at the appropriate assessment fee.

Urgent Medical Care

Clinic telephone and communication channels are not continuously monitored outside published business hours. Messages received outside these hours will normally be reviewed on the next working day.

An Emergency / Out-of-Hours Revive-Restore appointment is not a 24-hour emergency service and is not a substitute for NHS urgent or emergency medical care. Patients who require medical attention that cannot safely wait until the clinic reopens should access the appropriate NHS urgent or emergency service.
