Microneedling

Prescribing clinician-led collagen induction therapy — stimulating your skin's natural repair process to improve texture, tone and overall skin quality.

What is microneedling?

Microneedling — also known as collagen induction therapy — uses a device with fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. These tiny punctures trigger the body's natural wound healing response, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin.

The result is smoother, firmer, more even skin over a course of treatments. Microneedling is one of the most versatile skin treatments available, suitable for a wide range of concerns from fine lines to acne scarring.

What to expect

1

Skin assessment

A thorough evaluation of your skin type, concerns and goals. We discuss what microneedling can achieve and whether it is the right treatment for you.

2

Preparation

The skin is cleansed and a topical anaesthetic cream is applied to ensure comfort during the procedure.

3

Treatment

The microneedling device is passed over the treatment area in a systematic pattern. The depth is adjusted based on the area and concern being treated. Treatment typically takes 30–45 minutes.

4

Recovery

The skin will appear red — similar to mild sunburn — for 24–48 hours. Most patients can return to normal activities the following day. Makeup should be avoided for 24 hours.

5

Results

Improvements develop gradually over 4–6 weeks as new collagen forms. A course of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended.
