A podiatry consultation costs £60 (30 minutes), the same fee for every condition. Same-day conservative nail resection can be combined with your consultation for £100 in total (without local anaesthetic); if local anaesthetic is required, an additional £45 anaesthetic charge applies, making £145 in total. Nail surgery as a definitive procedure starts from £400 and is booked as a separate appointment. Final pricing is confirmed at your assessment.

The consultation is a 30-minute comprehensive diagnostic appointment. Your clinician will examine your nail condition and carry out vascular and neurological checks. You will receive a full treatment plan, prescription management if an infection is present, and clear advice on the most appropriate pathway for your situation — including whether a same-day conservative treatment option is suitable.

Yes, in appropriate cases. Two same-day add-on options are available. An urgent conservative resection without local anaesthetic (consultation and resection combined: £100) is suitable for mild to moderate ingrown nail edges or loose nail spicules. A prescriber-led urgent resection with a local anaesthetic ring block (if local anaesthetic is required, an additional £45 anaesthetic charge applies, £145 in total) is available for more painful or inflamed presentations. Both options remove the immediate painful spike but do not destroy the nail root — if a permanent solution is needed, nail surgery is recommended.

Conservative resection removes the immediate painful nail spike or ingrown edge and provides fast same-day relief — but it is not a permanent solution. The nail will grow back, and may grow in the same problematic direction. It is a treatment for immediate pain relief only, and some patients will go on to require a full partial nail avulsion (PNA) in the future. Nail surgery (partial nail avulsion with phenolisation) permanently prevents nail regrowth on the treated border and is the definitive treatment for recurrent or severe ingrown toenails.

The £400 Nail Surgery Package includes the procedure and one scheduled postoperative redressing appointment. Any further face-to-face appointments beyond that are charged separately. A standard follow-up wound review or dressing change is £40 (15 minutes). If additional clinical treatment or prescribing is required — such as managing hypergranulation tissue, wound trauma, or suspected infection — the fee is £60 (up to 30 minutes).
